Well SkyExplosion you are wrong. Matt Smith is as good Tennant. But you people are forgetting the actor playing the new doctor doesn’t have to live up to the hype of the previous actor but make it his own. Any way I don’t believe Tennant was the best doctor, Jon Pertwee was clearly the best.
@AnbuIce He would remember eveything, just like his other incarnations. He was scarred because he thought he was genuinly going to die. It turned out that he just regenerated, but he loved that incarnation so much he didn’t want to go. That’s why he spent the last few mintues of ‘The End of Time’ holding the regeneration in; he didn’t want to change.
In a way, Rose’s reaction here sums up what alot of fans must have been like, as alot of them wouldb’e been new to the show and not known the concept of regeneration.
He was scared to die because while he will remember being the 10th doctor, he won’t be anymore. Different personality, Different “pilot” as it were.. they may remember but they aren’t the same after a regeneration. Like the Tenth said regenerating “feels like dying”.
Plus he can only regenerated 12 times before dying for real so he’s running out of regenerations..
Okay I have a question. The 10th obviously remembered what happened durring his time as the 9th. So in “the eleventh hour” why did he seem so scared to die? Like he wouldn’t remember anything. Then when he does become 11th, I really don’t think he’d remember the previous set of people. He might though.
But anyways the 10th or Tennant was by far my favorite. I sure will miss him!
David Tennant was and still is the Doctor as far as I am concerned. Matt Smith just doesn’t compare. God how I wish they could just bring David Tennant back.
You can kinda tell he’s just starting to get into the role here and get used to his English accent. He’s much more classic Tennant in the next episode.
Haha I like the 9th doctor, he was really good and always seemed in a good mood, but David is my doctor <3 He just has this… chipperness that makes me just love him ^^ Hoping Matt the best!
@SilverTonguedSnake Oh, I agree– David Tennant wasn’t bad by ANY stretch of the imagination, but Christopher Eccleston beat him out with a stick; I don’t know if it was the coat or the short hair, or the accent, but he was just flat out *better*. My own opinion, but that’s just how I feel.
I like the new series. I don’t dislike Matt Smith, but whenever he says ‘I’m the Doctor’, I find it hard to believe. I liked Tennant best as The Doctor, he was believable. He was charismatic, wacky, emotional, and underneath it all hard as nails. When he gave one of his I AM THE DOCTOR speeches I could feel myself almost holding my breath; he was that believable. Smith, while an adequate actor, doesn’t have the presence expected of someone who’s lived over 900 years. It’s not right to compare him to Tennant, I know, but Smith seems more like Milk Toast. When he gave that little speech in the 12th episodes to his haters, I found myself wondering why they would be afraid of him. I didn’t need to ‘get use’ to Tennent, I liked him from the start. He’s full of personality.

After watching Matt Smith… I hate to say it, but I feel depressed. He can’t replace Tennant
The 10th doctor was.. well my one I suppose. I guess I’m just gonna have to re-watch the old epiosdes religilously instead now…
Matt seems to be trying to be David.. (I’m gonna get a dozen thumb downs..) 10th doctor FTW

I would have liked 9 better if he had stayed longer but I like 10 best!
When I did see him for the first time I was like ” Oh my gosh! He rules!”
@4878656 There are more types of Gelf.

both the ninth and tenth doctor rocked. They played the roles very different and they made it there own they were fantastic. here’s hoping for eleven.
